Sheriff’s – accident – Nov. 16
On Nov. 16 at 8:09 a.m. the Sheriff’s Department was notified of a crash involving a car and a farm tractor on State 144 two-tenths of a mile west of Lynn Road in the town of Sherman. Sheriff’s officers and EMS were dispatched to the scene.
Marianne Totsch, a 48-year-old woman from Colgate, was eastbound on State 144. Totsch reached down to the floorboard to pick up an item that had fallen. After picking up the item, she looked up and suddenly struck the rear of a farm tractor that was also traveling east. The tractor was operated by Robert Marquardt, a 78-year-old man from rural Random Lake. Both vehicles skidded off the road into the south ditch of State 144.
Marquardt was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Ozaukee with non life-threatening injuries. Totsch was taken to St. Joe’s Hospital in West Bend for non life-threatening injuries as well. Totsch was cited for inattentive driving.
