Plymouth eighth grade goes 7-1 in inaugural season

PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth eighth-grade football team finished its first season 7-1 after a 6-0 win over Oostburg Oct. 15 at Finke Field.

Quarterback Kollin Neils scored the winning touchdown in the second quarter on a scramble.

The Plymouth defense rose to the occasion in the fourth quarter after the offense turned the ball over it its 35-yard line. Plymouth’s defense held on downs and the offense, keyed by a strong ground game, ran the clock out to preserve the win.

Cody Hoffmann, Peter Krusiec and John Gobbel provided a powerful running game for Plymouth late in the game behind the blocking of linemen Denton Saladini and Dylan Ermer, and tight end Zach Holden.

The Plymouth team, which competed in the Sheboygan Youth Football League, expressed thanks to everyone who supported the program and helped at the home games.
