Appeciating firefighters

To the Editor:

Being an active member of the Sheboygan Falls Fire Department means commitment and time.

These brave volunteers protect us on a daily basis, and usually only are recognized after fighting a major fire or helping during a rescue call.

However, this year five men with a combined experience of over 134 years retired from the Sheboygan Falls Fire Department.

On behalf of the city of Sheboygan Falls I want to thank Carl Berlin, Tom Heidenreiter, Roger McCoy, Ted Hahn and Kevin Mauer.

When disaster struck, you protected us. Thank you for your dedication to training. Thank you for your time you gave us. It was time that could have been spent with family and friends or just simply relaxing.

Thank you for answering the call whether it came in the middle of the day or in the middle of a wellearned night’s sleep.
