Resorters fall short in opener

SHEBOYGAN – Despite a strong defensive showing, the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters dropped their boys basketball season opener, 57-51, to host Sheboygan Lutheran Tuesday night.

The contest was also the Central Lakeshore Conference debut for both squads. Dane Blake poured in a game-high 28 points for Elkhart, including 10 of his team’s 12 points in the third quarter.

“We played well but had a letdown after halftime and let them have a little run,” said Resorter head coach Jeremy Harrison.

“For the first game, the guys played defense really well and we stayed out of foul trouble. “Dane played really well for us by not forcing a lot [of shots] and working the ball,” Harrison said.

JV GAME The Resorters lost the junior varsity game, 47-30. Tom Pritzl paced Elkhart scorers with 10.
