Brat fry to benefit Safety Patrol

The Plymouth Safety Patrol will be holding a brat fry and bake sale Saturday, Dec. 19, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Plymouth Piggly Wiggly, 1411 Eastern Ave.

Proceeds from the brat fry will help fund the patrol’s annual trip to Washington, D.C.

Matching funds will be provided by the West Sheboygan County chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

The Plymouth Safety Patrol is a group of 25 dedicated fourth- and sixth-grade students from the three grade schools in the Plymouth School District. These young boys and girls volunteer their time in assisting their peers to arrive safely at school by monitoring the busiest intersections near their respective schools. Th4e patrol members are overseen by officers of the Plymouth Police Department.

As a reward for their dedication to this responsibility, they are offered a trip to Washington, D.C., in the spring of the year.

Monetary donations for the 2010 trip are being accepted and can be sent directly to the Plymouth Safety Patrol, P.O. Box 218, Plymouth 53073.
