ELVERA L. WINTER

Elvera L. Winter, 87, a resident of Golden Living Center, Sheboygan, died there Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009.

Elvera was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Sheboygan County to Arthur and Anna (Rietbrock) Spindler.

In June of 1947, she married Clarence E. Winter of Adell. The couple resided in rural Adell most of their married life. Mr. Winter preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1979.

Elvera was a longtime member of Salem Plank Road United Church of Christ, Plymouth.

Survivors include seven children: Delores (special friend, Bruce Huettl) Winter of Clintonville, Wis.; Ronald (Wendy) Winter, Ralph Winter and David (Kathy) Winter, all of Sheboygan; Bernice Winter of Port Washington; Leroy (Leslie) Winter of Waldo and Marlene (fiancé, Corey Crabb) Winter; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Siebenaler of Plymouth; and other family members.

She enjoyed canning, gardening, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family will always remember Elvera’s devotion to Bible study.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elvera was preceded in death by three brothers, Rieme, Elroy and Harvey Spindler.

A private memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Salem Plank Road United Church of Christ. Pastor Cheryl Lepak will officiate. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
