HELEN E. FLADER
Helen E. Flader, 100, of Fond du Lac, passed away with her family at her side Saturday, Dec. 12, 2009, at GranCare Nursing Home.
She was born April 27, 1909 in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late Rudolph and Emilie (Sprenger) Sommer.
On Aug. 22, 1931, she married A. Willard Flader in Sheboygan. She and her husband owned and operated Flader’s Drug Store in Sheboygan from 1937 until retiring in 1966. The couple resided in Sheboygan and Crystal Lake until their retirement, when they spent their winters in Florida.
Survivors include two sons, Tom Flader and James (Linda) Flader, all of Fond du Lac; one daughter, Ann (William Otto) Katt of West Bend; eight grandchildren, Stephen and Joan, David, Barbara, Susan and Laura, Ross and Zachary; eight great-grandchildren; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A. Willard, on Aug. 20, 1998. Visitation will be held Thursday Dec. 17, from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Zacherl Funeral Home, Fond du Lac. Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be in the St. George Catholic Cemetery, in the town of Rhine.
