Kosnicki sparks Resorters to first win

STOCKBRIDGE – Senior guard Travis Kosnicki poured in a career-best 28 points to propel the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters past Stockbridge, 65-60, in boys basketball action here Thursday night.

The victory was the Resorters’ first of the season and improved their Central Lakeshore Conference record to 1-2 (1-2 overall).

Senior guard Dane Blake added 20 points for the Resorters who had to stave off a second-half comeback by the CLC newcomers. Elkhart led 32-23 at halftime but the Indians rallied back – outscoring the visitors 37-33.

Elkhart blew out to a 21-8 lead after one quarter, sparked by Kosnicki who erupted for 11 points, including two treys.

“Dane and Travis both played well together – taking good shots and working the ball around,” said Resorter head coach Jeremy Harrison.

Kosnicki also had a career-high 12 rebounds to pace Elkhart. Blake led the team in steals with four and was second in assists at four. Junior guard Ryan Zareczny was high in assists with six.

“It was a pretty good team effort. We had really good ball movement and got open shots,” Harrison said. “Our bench played well on defense. Ryan did a great job with getting the ball into our offense. “We need to work on cutting down the turnovers,” the coach said. Elkhart committed 20 turnovers.
