WALTER H. VOGEL

Walter H. Vogel, age 88, of Crystal Lake, Plymouth, Wis., was born Oct. 25, 1921, in Estonia to Achel and Emmi Vogel. He was raised and educated in Dusseldorf, Germany. He came to the United States in 1953; died Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, Ill.

Beloved husband of Kathy, celebrating their 40th anniversary on Thanksgiving; loving father of Vera (John) Kasberger of Cottage Grove, Ore.; and stepfather of Christopher (Julie) Gentine of Plymouth, Wis.; cherished grandfather of Nicole (Bob) Waniger and Sophie and Saunders Gentine; great-grandfather of Abigale Waniger; and brother-in-law of Ann (Konrad) Kaczkowski and Barbara (Tim) Mabie.

Walter was the director of Research & Development and chief engineer for Hayssen Packaging in Sheboygan and Reddington Packaging in Chicago.

Walter and Kathy loved traveling the world together. Walter was an avid reader and spoke three languages.

Cremation and services were private. Memorials may be made to The Angel Fund, an educational fund at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 115 Plymouth St., Plymouth, WI 53073-1626.
