Panthers’ Pruitt, Welsch wins JV mat titles

PORT WASHINGTON – John Pruitt and Raven Welsch of Plymouth were crowned champions in a junior varsity wrestling tournament here Saturday.

Pruitt, a sophomore, won the 189-pound division and Welsch, a freshman, took first at 140.

The Panthers had four third-place finishers – Andrew Meyer at 130; J.J. Seifert, 135; Tyler Bogart, 160; and Eric Benti at 171.

Panther coach Mike Briggs said the JV squad wrestled well overall and is showing improvement.
