ROSEMARY DEKKER

Rosemary Dekker, age 87, of N1919 Dulmes Road, Cedar Grove, Wis., passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, Dec. 15, 2009, at the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice where she had been a patient the past month.

She was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Sheboygan, a daughter of the late Elwood and Susan (Dorst) Lee. She graduated from Waldo High School in 1940.

On Oct. 18, 1946, she married Robert Dekker in Waldo. They lived their entire married life in the town of Holland.

Rosemary had been a member of the Hingham Methodist Church and later became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo.

For several years she and her husband bowled in a couples league in Sheboygan Falls, enjoyed golfing and was well known for her gardening and beautiful flowers beds. She also enjoyed bird watching and feeding for many years. Rosemary had also enjoyed braiding rugs and shared all her love with her family and will be remembered for her skills in the kitchen.

Survivors include her husband Bob and two sons, Thomas (Shirley) Dekker and Paul (Connie) Dekker, both of Cedar Grove; seven grandchildren, Matthew Dekker, William (Amy) Dekker, Nicholas Dekker and his fiancée Carla Theune, Susan (Travis) DeRuyter, Jennifer (Benjie) Meerdink, Christine (Chris) Bahr and Sally Dekker; and 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Jane Ellingen of Greenfield, Wis.

She was preceded in death by five sisters, Lucille Roe, Virginia Rammer, Marge Masterson, Leona Wirth and Barbara Hvass.

Funeral services were held Friday evening, Dec 18, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Waldo. The Rev. Jeremy Deaner, pastor of the church, officiated. Cremation followed the service with inurnment in the Hingham Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Rosemary’s name.
