Falls takes down TR

TWO RIVERS – The Sheboygan Falls Falcons wrestling team racked up three pins and two technical falls to down the Two Rivers Purple Raiders 40-28 in an Eastern Wisconsin Conference dual meet Thursday, Dec. 17.
Falls improved to 2-0 in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference (8-3 overall), with the win.
The Falcons scored pins from senior Nathan Brown (130), sophomore Lucas Lambrecht (135) and junior Ryan Fillafer (152).
Technical falls were awarded to junior Jeremiah Kramasz (145) and senior Ben Chappa (171), while junior Chase Schultz (103) and senior Jared Ertman picked up decision victories.
“Two Rivers is an improved team,” said Falcons coach Fred Brown. “They have built a good program, but our experience prevailed. I’m proud of our boys.”
After the first few matches, the Falcons were down by 15 points. However, they were able to comeback, due to the strength of the middleweight wrestlers
At Luxemburg-Casco, Chappa recorded his 100th career win, as he improved to 11-0 on the season.
The Falcons have rescheduled their dual meet at Campbellsport to Jan. 12, 2010. Falls travels to Kaukauna for the prestigious Cheesehead Tournament Jan. 1-2. The tournament features top-ranked teams from throughout the state.
