Sheriff’s Report – Jan. 4

Travis L. Sander, 30, of Kiel, was injured in a car accident after he discovered a deer in the middle of the road and swerved to avoid it.

According to the accident report, the incident happened at 5:25 p.m. Dec. 27 on State 67, just south of Holzman Road. Sander was negotiating a curve and took evasive action to avoid the deer. His 1997 Dodge Stratus left the roadway, proceeded down an embankment and rolled onto its roof.

Sander was transported by ambulance to St. Nicholas Hospital.
