GORDON D. LUND

Gordon D. Lund, age 80, of Adell, died unexpectedly and went to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, Dec 27, 2009, at Froedert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee.

He was born July 16, 1929 in Stanley, Wis., a son of the late Carl and Florence (Newlon) Lund. He attended school in Stanley.

Gordon served in the U.S. Army from 1946-48 in Japan.

Gordon was married to Delores Van der Jagt on July 16, 1949. The couple lived in Waterloo, Iowa, and later moved to the town of Greenbush.

Gordy had been employed at the David Douglas Co. and later was employed at Gilson Bros. and Lawn Boy for 19 years. He was then employed at Hydraulic Gear in Fredonia and then worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart in West Bend up to the present time.

On Dec. 13, 1976, he married Arlene Schultz Born, at Community UCC in Elkhart Lake. They have made their home in the town of Scott since their marriage.

He was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God in West Bend.

Gordy loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He will be remembered mostly for the time spent with his loving family.

Survivors include his wife Arlene; three sons, Dale Lund of Newton, Dean (Lei) Lund of Elkhart Lake, and Randy (Camie) Lund of Plymouth; two daughters, Sandra (John) O’Malley of Oregon, Wis., and Joanne (Daniel) Lau of Plymouth; two stepsons, David (Kris) Born of Menomonee Falls and Dennis (Mari) Born of Plymouth; three stepdaughters, Sandi (Steve) Bemis and Sheri (David) Horn, both of Adell; Shelli (Joe) Stockwell of Grand Marais, Minn.; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Edward) Setzer and Mary Ann (Joe) Licht, both of Sheboygan; one brother, Donald Lund.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Penny Lund; three sisters, Lucille Dekansic, Dorothy White and Marilyn Lund; two brothers, Carl Jr. and Gerald; and one infant step-grandson.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning, Dec. 31, at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth. Pastor John Garcia officiated. Burial took place at Zion Methodist Cemetery in Batavia.
