Builders association recognizes members
The Sheboygan County Home Builders Association recently presented the most prestigious awards given by this group to two of its members. The award ceremony took place at the annual Holiday Party held at Pine Hills Country Club in Sheboygan. Brad TenPas, Brad TenPas Construction, LLC was named Builder Member of the Year, along with Jan Koepsell of Expedition Log Homes, who was honored as the Associate Member of the Year.
A slate of nominees, and a list of their contributions to the association in 2009, is presented to the members. Voting is done by secret ballot to honor the two members with these awards showing recognition for contributions and involvement in the association during the past year.
TenPas is currently the immediate past president of the association, serves as a director on the Wisconsin Builders Association board and is vice chair of the WBA Code Committee, a member of the local Government Affairs Committee, and most recently on the Parade of Homes Committee. TenPas and his family reside in Hingham.
Koepsell was honored as the Associate Member of the Year. Her efforts were definite contributions to the association on various committees and instrumental in the success of association events. She is currently serving as vice chair of the government affairs committee, sits on the Membership Committee, Advertising Committee and on a national level is an incoming officer on the Log Homes Council affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders. Koepsell and her family reside in Sheboygan Falls.
The following members were also recognized for their years of service as members:
Hau & Sippel Builders Inc., 30 years; Community Bank & Trust, 25 years; and Professional Heating & Cooling, Damrow Construction, Schreurs Construction, Schnell Plumbing, Wensink Heating Services, Luedtke Electric, all 15 years of service. Plymouth Plumbing & Heating and Kohler Credit Union, 10 years, and the following having five years of service as members of the SCHBA: UnitedOne Credit Union; B & N Drywall & Painting; Bay Title & Abstract; Freis Tile & Design; Hallmark Building Supplies; G K&K Construction; Oostburg State Bank; Daane Electric; Lakeshore Technical College; Buyze & Ver Velde; and Meiselwitz Furniture.
The Sheboygan County Home Builders Association is an active professional trade association consisting of 160 members contributing to enhance the building industry. This group sponsors the Home Builders Expo held in spring and the Parade of Homes held each fall. The association works to establish high standards, professionalism and service with the building industry and support the American dream of home ownership through affordable housing.
