The contestants are now in place for each race in the upcoming 2010 spring election.
A total of 10 seats on the Sheboygan Falls Common Council, School Board and Town Board seats will be up for grabs, when city and town voters head to the polls Tuesday, April 6.
This year’s School Board race features a crowded field of six candidates, vying for three seats.
Board President John Mauer is seeking re-election to his second full three-year term, while longtime board member Tom Bigler has served on the board since 2001.
Retired District Facilities Manager John Raml is set to mount another campaign, after falling short in his bid to attain a School Board seat last spring.
Newcomers Dieter Juedes and Christopher Lacey will also appear on the School Board ballot.
Incumbent board member Steve Thimmig will not seek re-election.
In the city of Sheboygan Falls it’s status quo, as all five incumbents up for re-election are running unopposed.
Mayor Randy Meyer will not face an opponent in his quest for a fourth two-year term in the mayor’s office.
All three aldermanic incumbents appear to be headed for additional two-year terms on the Common Council, as Terry Van Engen (1st District), Randy Messner (2nd District) and Dawn Beimel (3rd District) are running unopposed.
Van Engen has served on the council since 2005, while Messner has been a 2nd District alderman for the past 12 years. Beimel is seeking her second two-year term on the council.
Incumbent Municipal Judge Dave Specht also faces no opposition, as he seeks another four-year term in the judge’s chair.
In the town of Sheboygan Falls, incumbent Lyman “Skip” Theobald is running for re-election to the Town Board, along with former Town Supervisor Jim Hanke,
Theobald has been a member of the board for more than 20 years, while Hanke is seeking to return to the board, after serving a two-year term from 2007 to 2009.
Dave Dassow, who has held a supervisor’s seat on the Town Board since 2007, will not be seeking reelection.
