Howards Grove Tigers V.s. Sheboygan Lutheran

SHEBOYGAN – A blazing start sparked the Howards Grove Tigers to their sixth consecutive win – a 75-36 thumping of host Sheboygan Lutheran Friday night.

The Tigers stayed atop the Central Lakeshore Conference girls basketball standings with Ozaukee at 5-0. Howards improved to 8-1 overall.

Howards blew out to a 21-7 lead after one quarter, led by Ali Benning’s seven points and Emily Schuh’s six (two three-point goals). The Tigers built their advantage to 43-15 at halftime, ignited by Benning’s 16 points.

“Our full-court pressure gave them some problems and we were able to capitalize off their turnovers,” said Tiger head coach Heidi Georgeff.

“Ali had a nice all-around game. Emily had a nice game and provided us with scoring punch from the beginning.”

Benning had a team-high 20 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals. Alexis Lindstrom and Brianna Morgen also had three steals each.

Schuh contributed 13 points, including three treys. Lindstrom was second in assists with four.
