Resorters have valiant effort but fall in OT

ELKHART LAKE – The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters had an excellent effort but it wasn’t quite enough as they suffered a heartbreaking loss in overtime to Kohler, 52-51, here Saturday night.

Elkhart had chances to win the game at the end of regulation and overtime but missed shots. The Resorters fell to 1-6 in the Central Lakeshore Conference boys basketball race (1-6 overall). The Blue Bombers improved to 3-4 in the CLC (5-6 overall).

The Resorters fought back from a 31-21 halftime deficit, fueled by their defense. Elkhart outscored Kohler 11-2 in the third quarter to climb to within 33-32.

Nick Tesmer’s three-pointer tied the game for the Bombers at the end of regulation at 43-43.

“They played really hard all game. We had only a few turnovers [nine] and held Kohler to two points in the third quarter.

“Everyone was really patient in the offense and worked as a team,” Harrison said.
