Students offer class on online safety
What do you do when your 8-year-old knows more about cyberspace than you do?
Plymouth High School students will be teaching a one-hour class called “Online Safety for Parents.”
The class will explain how children use the Internet and what parents can do to help them have a safer, more enjoyable experience online.
It will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, in the library at Plymouth High School, 125 Highland Ave. The class is free, but registration is required by Monday, Jan. 18.
The class is part of a series of technology classes being taught by high school students for the community, especially parents of school-age children. Upcoming classes in the series include “Web 2.0 for Parents” on Monday, Feb. 15, and “Researching Skills for Parents” on Monday, March 1. Students also will be putting on a technology seminar Tuesday, Jan. 19, to introduce people to various technological tools.
