MARY E. “PEG” FOY
Mary E. “Peg” Foy, age 85, of 2209 Poch Ave., Plymouth, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, Jan. 11, 2010, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice where she had been a resident for the past nine days.
She was born May 22, 1924 in Fond du Lac, Wis., a daughter of the late Dan and Rose Skelton Calvey. She attended grade school in the town of Mitchell and Plymouth High School.
She was employed at Cleveland Container in Plymouth.
On Nov. 20, 1945, she married Desmond J. Foy at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in the town of Mitchell. The couple lived in Fond du Lac, Grant counties and for the past 40 years have resided in Sheboygan County.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and belonged to the Christian Women Society in the church.
Desmond preceded her in death April 1, 1998.
Survivors include four daughters: Denise (Clair) Burrill of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; Mary Jeanne (John) Schmitt of Marietta, Ga.; Patti Foy (husband, Tom Clegg) of Plymouth and Chris Foy of Sheboygan, Wis.; one son, Edward (Kathy) Foy of Flower Mound, Texas; four grandchildren: Leigh Burrill of San Francisco, Calif.; Katie Burrill of Oakland, Calif.; Daniel Foy of Fort Worth, Texas and Angie Foy of Frisco, Texas; three step grandchildren: Aubri (Cameron) Tuttle of Chandler, Ariz.; Britta (Wesley) Green of Waukegan, Ill.; and Lauren Clegg of Oshkosh, Wis.; two step great-grandchildren, Hannah and Emilie Tuttle; one sister, Alice Roltgen of Glenbeulah; and two sisters-in-law, JoAnn Foy of Plymouth and Marie Calvey of Plymouth. Mary is further survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kelly and Kerry Foy; three brothers, Miles, Francis and Bernard Calvey and one sister, Ruth Roltgen.
A funeral Mass will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. The Very Rev. Dennis Van Beek, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the church
Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Mary’s name for St. John the Baptist Angel Fund.
