PIC gets check from women’s group
The Plymouth Professional Business Women (PPBW) presented Martha Laning, executive director of the Plymouth Intergenerational Coalition (PIC), a check for $3,000 at their first monthly meeting of 2010. The funds were raised at the groups annual Christmas Party and Silent Auction in December.
Laning expressed her sincere thanks on behalf of the PIC and complimented the members as the first service club in the area to hold a fund raising event in support of PIC.
Also, Laning announced Thursday that the state of Wisconsin has added $250,000 to the coalition’s Community Development Block Grant, bringing the grant to $1.01 million.
Stimulus funds, which are the source of the grant, will be paying for 24 percent of the total project cost, according to Laning. The coalition must raise $749,000 by April 1 in order to begin construction by April 15, which is a condition of the grant.
The PIC will be hosting a community fundraiser on March 20 at Amore banquet facility in Plymouth. Watch the Plymouth Review for upcoming details.
The Plymouth Intergenerational Coalition (PIC) is a non-profit organization formed through a grassroots partnership with a vision to create an environmentally friendly facility where generations come together to learn, support one another, share skills, promote health and strengthen families.
