Wedding flowers their expertise

by Sue Mroz of The Review staff

Expert knowledge and friendly guidance are what brides receive in selecting their wedding flowers at Floral Creations by Jennifer.

Jennifer Entringer has the know-how, with nearly two decades of experience. In fact, she has a total of 20 years employment in the floral industry. Jennifer and her husband Tim are the owners of two Sheboygan County-based flower shops by the name of Floral Creations by Jennifer.

They opened the first shop eight years ago at 820 Madison Ave., Howards Grove. Then two years ago, they opened a business at 2109 Erie Ave., Sheboygan, in the former Sheboygan Green House facility.

Tim, who is employed elsewhere, is a silent partner in the business, with Jennifer running the Howards Grove store and Danny Kaufmann, managing the Sheboygan location.

Jennifer and her daughter Kristen Konz, also a floral designer for the past five years, do the majority of the wedding work for both stores.

Jennifer thrives on the creativity that designing flowers for weddings entails.

“I love wedding work, because no two weddings are the same,” she said. “Each one is as unique as the bride planning it.

“This challenges my creativity and keeps my work interesting and fun,” she added. “Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and flowers help express the joy, beauty and special meaning the day holds for every couple – no matter what size the event is.

“So, it’s very important that brides get what they want at a price they can afford,” she emphasized. “There are so many ways to get a beautiful look with less expensive flowers. It’s important to be creative for each bride, so that she is satisfied.”

Jennifer and Kristen create wedding-flower arrangements using fresh or artificial flowers, or a combination of both, depending upon the specific request.

“The fresh and artificial flowers are pretty much the same price-wise,” Jennifer noted.

Some of the most popular requests for flowers include calla lilies, stargazer lilies, roses and gerbera daisies.

Jennifer offered the following advice to brides. “Brides-to-be are invited to stop in at either location to browse through our shops’ wedding photo albums, with photos of wedding flower arrangements we have designed,” she said.

“We also have many other helpful books to provide ideas and inspiration. I am always at our Howards Grove location to offer expert knowledge and friendly guidance,” she noted. “And Danny is at the Sheboygan shop to do the same.”

Apparently this mother and daughter team have been fulfilling that service, as per word-of-mouth of their clients, their business has grown dramatically.

Prior to opening their first store, Jennifer spent 11 years working at Caan Floral & Greenhouse on 12th Street in Sheboygan. For part of that time, she was assistant manager of the floral department.

After resigning from her position at Caan Floral, she spent a year freelancing for 13 different floral shops – most of them in the Milwaukee area. Jennifer continues to attend educational events provided by the floral industry, to stay updated on current trends.

She encouraged brides also to check out their bridal photo album online via facebook.

Kaufmann provided directions for doing so. If logged into a facebook account, do a search for Floral Creations by Jennifer. Then click on “search.”

Links with Web sites for that business name will appear on the screen. Click on the one that designates Howards Grove.

“For clients who are out of town, this is a good way to check out our wedding-flower designs,” Kaufmann said.
