Arts Center Singers preparing for concerts

The Plymouth Arts Center Singers are beginning preparations for their 10th annual consecutive Spring Concert to be presented at the Plymouth Arts Center, Friday and Saturday, May 14-15, 2010. Rehearsals will begin Monday, Feb. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Eastern Avenue. Practices will continue weekly at the Plymouth Arts Center until the performance week in mid-May.

The PAC spring concert has an annual theme based on ‘spring’ with a variety of music from many different periods with a wide range of styles and types. The yearly concerts are prepared and presented by interested singers to help further an appreciation of the arts at the Plymouth Arts Center and in the general area. The concerts are meant to appeal to the singers as well as the audience, and present music that includes a wide ranging panorama from spirituals to Broadway to folk, novelty, and patriotic. The concerts are of an intimate nature and attendees are generally seated at tables of six.

The Singers are directed by Dan Clausen, New Holstein resident and longtime Lakeshore Chorale singer and teacher, returning for his fifth year as director. The group is accompanied by Freddie Noordyk, Plymouth resident and longtime teacher/ director/ accompanist in the area and with the Plymouth Arts Center.

The Plymouth Arts Center Singers are always looking for interested and contributing singers in every voice. If you’re interested in singing with this year’s 2010 Arts Center Singers, and have some background in choral music, please contact the Plymouth Arts Center at 920-892-8409 or E-mail: paf@excel.net, website: www.plymoutharts.org
