Meals on Wheels Plymouth contract awarded

Meals On Wheels Executive Director Kelly Heyn has announced the awarding of the Plymouth contract to Watson’s Elite Catering.

Beginning Feb. 1, Plymouth Meals On Wheels clients will enjoy the same hot, nutritious meals that Elite Catering has been providing to the Sheboygan, Kohler, Sheboygan Falls and Howards Grove clients since 1998. The meals will be transferred from Sheboygan in portable ovens so that meal quality will not be compromised.

Delivery will still take place between 11:10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. and meal costs will remain the same. The only significant change Meals On Wheels clients will notice is that every Wednesday, when the volunteers deliver their meal they will also bring a menu for the following week. This gives them the opportunity to cancel should they see a meal they do not care for.

Meals On Wheels volunteers who previously picked up their routes at Plymouth Care Center will now pick them up at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1808 Eastern Ave., Plymouth. Rev. Jim Wilson and church council member Keith Enstrom were instrumental in establishing this new arrangement.
