The Sheboygan Falls Common Council approved several interior upgrades for the municipal court office, during a semimonthly meeting Tuesday, Jan. 19, at the City Hall Municipal Building.

The project will be included in the city’s capital-improvement budget, with a cost not to exceed $5,000.

Emmons Business Interiors of Sheboygan has been contracted to complete the upgrades, at an estimated cost of $4,906.70.

In other business, the council approved operator-license applications for Benjamin J. Hendricks and Richard W. Halverson Jr., as well as a soda license for Addicted Industries LLC, located at 334 Broadway St.

A one-day beer license application from the Sheboygan Falls Fire Department also earned approval. The license is for the department’s annual brat fry, which will be held Sunday, Jan. 24.

A vote on a settlement agreement between the city of Sheboygan Falls and Sheboygan Falls employee union Local 1749-B AFSCME, AFL-CIO union was postponed until a later date.

The dispute involves call-in and overtime work for Department of Public Works employees.

“We have some more issues that need to be examined, before we can vote on this,” Finance and Personnel Committee Chairman Randy Messner said.

Prior to the regular meeting, the Finance and Personnel Committee met in closed session to discuss the DPW settlement agreement, between the city and local employee union.

A special Finance and Personnel Committee meeting was scheduled Tuesday, Jan. 26, to further discuss the impending union agreement.

The Public Health and Welfare Committee also met in closed session to review an operator-license appeal.

The next Sheboygan Falls Common Council meeting will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2, in the Council Chambers at the City Hall Municipal Building at 6:30 p.m.
