Mosel Farm and Home 4-H Club – November-January
Andy Wieland, the president, called the Mosel Farm and Home 4-H Club meeting to order Monday, Nov. 9, at Mosel Town Hall starting at 6 p.m. to decorate shoeboxes, 6:30 p.m. for Meals on Wheels bags, and 7 p.m. for the meeting. Emily Wagner led the U.S. pledge, and Justin Athorp led the 4-H pledge. The roll call question was “What are you thankful for?”
The secretary and treasurer’s reports were read and accepted.
Old business:
We discussed • Parents & Awards Day on Saturday, Nov. 7. • The fact that we couldn’t have Enchanted Forest.
• The Enrollment/Re-enrollment forms that were due at the meeting.
• Our many service projects: making hats and scarves for the kids at Head Start, donating three-four nonperishables for some local families for their Thanksgiving dinners, we donated 21 coats for Coats for the Needy, and the Operation Christmas Child shoebox project.
New business:
We discussed • Pizza fundraiser- we had pizza pickup Dec. 5 from 11-11:30 a.m. at the fire station. • Club dues- the $5 dues are due at the December meeting to Treasurer Katelynn Mauk. • New members- we welcomed Emily Eschen, Noelle Eschen and Caden Bramstedt. • Clover Awards are Nov. 30 at The American Club- we had a few members get the awards.
• The December meeting is Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. We will have the Christmas Party to follow.
• We are going Christmas caroling Dec. 12 to Harvest Homes, the Lincoln Apartments, the Binversies, and the Johnsons (our Music and Drama leaders).
• We will donate $75 and items members will bring in to a family in need with premature twins. • We are ringing bells for the Salvation Army Nov. 21. • We celebrated birthdays with Justin Athorp, Morgan Bramstedt, and Lois Demmin. Sara Athorp, reporter

We discussed • The success in our pizza fundraiser. • Bell ringing Saturday, Nov. 21. • The Clover Award winners: Katelynn Mauk, Bradley Mauk, and Craig Parish. • Donating $75 and items members brought in to a family in need with premature twins. • The new members from last month: Emily Eschen, Noelle Eschen and Caden Bramstedt. • The $5 club dues that were due this month.

• The three-five valentines for veterans we are bringing to next month’s meeting.
• Valentine’s Day Project- we are probably making cookies, but we decided to talk about it again next month.
• The 2010 Chairperson Project sign-up (which is when the parents sign up to be in charge of the smaller projects that we do each year).
• Music and Drama- we are meeting Dec. 30 for our first practice and to find out what we are doing. • We also celebrated Noelle Eschen’s and Felicity Mueller’s birthdays this month.

Kelly Wieland, the vice president, called the Mosel Farm and Home 4-H Club meeting to order Monday, Dec. 14, at Mosel Town Hall starting around 7:15 p.m., after decorating Meals on Wheels bags and the Community Service Committee, which started at 6:30 p.m. Tara Ziegelbauer led the U.S. pledge and the 4- H, by Sara Athorp. The roll call question was “When did you open Christmas presents?”

We discussed • That club dues are raised to $5.50.
New business:
We discussed • The three-five valentines for veterans we brought to this month’s meeting.
• Valentine’s Day Project- we are making friendship boxes at the beginning of the next meeting (Feb. 8).
• The 2010 Chairperson Project sign-up- we still have five projects that need a chair (which is when the parents sign up to be in charge of the smaller projects that we do each year).
• Music and Drama- we are meeting every Sunday and Thursday and our theme is global. • We said that we are doing sledding Jan. 23 at Vollrath Bowl.
• Former Graduate College Care Packages- we signed up for what we are bringing to the next meeting.
• We are all bringing a kid’s toothbrush and a small tube of toothpaste to the next meeting for National Dental Care Month.
• We had a Community Service Committee report.
* We are making book bags for the kids at Head Start. Everyone should bring a new or gently used book to the next meeting.
• We also celebrated Andy Wieland’s, Patty Wieland’s, Donna Parrish’s, and Terry Johnson’s birthdays this month.
