SILVIN F. JACOBY
Mr. Silvin Jacoby, of County CC in the town of Sherman, passed away at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center in Sheboygan on Monday morning, Jan. 25, 2010. He was 86 years old.
Silvin was born in the town of Holland on Sept. 25, 1923, son of Joseph and Margaret Depies Jacoby. His early schooling took place in Dacada, and he graduated from Random Lake High School with the Class of 1941.
He was united in marriage with Audrey Plate DeRuyter on Sept. 28, 1957, at St. George Catholic Church, Six Corners. The couple farmed in the town of Holland (Dacada) until retirement in 1989.
Silvin was a lifelong member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, Dacada.
He was a very social man and enjoyed going for coffee with his friends, “going for a ride” and a good game of sheepshead. He could frequently be seen at auctions, bidding with his cane.
Mr. Jacoby is survived by his wife, Audrey, and their five children: Phil, Dale (Deb), Beverly and Nancy, all of Random Lake, and Gary (fiancée, Tina Jones) of Cedar Grove. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Michele (Kevin) Hilbelink of Cedar Grove, Nic (Megan) Jacoby of Port Washington, and Nicole and Nathan Jacoby, both of Madison; one great-grandson, Cole Hilbelink; sister, Salome Jacoby of Random Lake; sister-in-law, Germaine Zimbal of Sheboygan; brother-in-law, Cletus (Gayle) Plate of Howards Grove; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Arthur and two sisters, Viola and Leona; and four brothers- and sisters-in-law: Elmer Zimbal, Myron Plate, Lorraine Jacoby and Karen Plate.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Nicholas Chapel, W4274 County K, Dacada. Father Guy Gurath and Father Jim Ernster will officiate. Burial will follow at St. George Cemetery, Six Corners.
The family will receive visitors Thursday, Jan. 28, from 4-8 p.m. at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave. (County LL and Park Street) in Belgium, and on Friday morning at church
from 9-10 a.m.
