Fast start keys Tigers’ rout
HOWARDS GROVE – The Howards Grove Tigers blew out to a 16-3 advantage after one quarter en route to a 60-27 pummeling of Kohler in a girls basketball makeup game here Saturday night.
It was the Tigers’ third straight win and moved them into a share of first place with Oostburg in the Central Lakeshore Conference. Howards, ranked No. 12 in Division 3, improved to 10-1 in CLC play (13-2 overall).
Senior guard Kasey Latham fueled the Tigers’ first-quarter attack with six points on a pair of treys.
Tiger sophomore guard Alexis Lindstrom had an impressive all-around game with a team-high 10 points, seven steals and five assists. Senior guard-forward Ali Benning also had a strong performance – sharing team scoring honors with 10 and ranking second in assists and steals at four apiece.
Tatum Brickner paced Howards in rebounding with five.
