Tri-County Sportswomen elect officers

Tri-County Sportswomen, LLC has held their annual election in January and chose the following officers for 2010:

President — Tammie Taylor of Plymouth; vice-president — Sue Matzat of Fond du lac; secretary — Lil Pipping of Elkhart Lake; treasurer — Pat Ramirez of Sheboygan Falls; and board member — Roxanne Taylor of Plymouth

Tri-County Sportswomen were named 2009 “Club of the Year” for the Sheboygan County Conservation Association. Their outstanding work at the Elkhart Lake boat landing won them this award.

The club has partnered with the Sheboygan County Planning and Resources Department, the FFA of Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School and others to manage the greens and plants at the landing, turning this site into something of beauty welcoming visitors and locals to Elkhart Lake.

Tri-County Sportswomen are members of Sheboygan County Conservation Association, Wisconsin Wildlife Federation, Maywood Environmental Association, sponsor a classroom for Camp Y-Koda Skills and Education program, sponsor several youth to attend Greenwing Day, and donate rod/reels and manpower to the Outdoor Activity/Free Fishing day which will be June 5 at the Lagoon in Sheboygan Falls.

In October they provided the second biennial self-defense class for women that included members of the Star program for young ladies. They also provided everything needed to make Thanksgiving dinners (including turkeys provided by the local Turkey Federation club) for four families in the county which included one for Safe Harbor.

The club does trap and pistol shooting, archery and are now working on developing a women’s day in the Shooting Sport program

The club meets every third Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. — location can change depending on activity for that night. Anyone interested in coming to a meeting can call either (920) 449-5201 or (920) 876-4312.
