“The 2009 Growing Season” will be among the agronomic topics discussed at the 2010 Agronomy Day Program scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18, from 10 a.m. — 3 p.m. at the Five Pillars Restaurant, Random Lake.
Dr. Joe Lauer, UW-Extension corn specialist, will discuss “What are the Hybrid Relative Maturity and Yield Trade-Offs” along with “Buying the Traited Hybrids that Make Dollars and Sense”.
UW-Extension Field Crop Entomologist Dr. Eileen Cullen’s presentation will include: “2009 Bt CRW Hybrid Survey Results,” “Do Combined Bt Traits Improve Pest Control and Reduce Resistance Concerns,” and “Revised Refugee Requirements”.
“Performance Comparison of RR, RR2Y and LL Soybeans in Wisconsin,” “Plant Populations & Row Width,” and “Managing for Top Yields” will be discussed by Dr. Shawn Conley, UW-Madison soybean specialist.
“2010 White Mold Recommendations” and “Corn Foliar Fungicide Up-Dates” will be presented by Dr. Paul Esker, UW-Extension crop plant pathology.
Lastly, Brian Branch, market advisor, Stewart-Peterson, will provide a “Corn and Bean Price Outlook”.
