Meet the candidates: get informed for the primary election
The Sheboygan County Taxpayers Alliance (SCTA) will sponsor a “meet the candidates” night at 6 p.m. (sharp), Tuesday, Feb. 9, in the Rocca Room of Mead Public Library.
Three districts (second, third, and seventh) have primary run-offs; but since the fifth district has two new candidates (because the seat was vacated by Alderwoman Jeannie Kliejunas), SCTA decided that all districts with opposition should take part in the debates, including the sixth district. All 13 candidates were sent invitations to attend.
First district candidates: Ed Surek, Collin Kachel and Scott Versey Second district candidates: Dennis Radtke, Vang Neng Vue and Allen Brunke Fifth district candidates: Susan Lessard and Don Hammond Sixth district candidates: Jeremy Dekker and Timothy Smith
Seventh district candidates: Mark Hanna, Joel Hammen and Vicky Meyer
Those districts up for re-election, but without opposition are (3rd – Jean Kittelson), (4th – James Bohren, and (8th – Jodi Vanderweele).
“Meet the Candidates” night offers voters a chance to ask questions. It will be televised, but SCTA hopes to see many voters at the library on Feb. 9.
