Alex W. Hanson,
23, 4307 W. Lake Drive, Newton. $1,822.90 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and with a prohibited alcohol concentration and inattentive driving, July 4, 2009.
Andrew M. Leichtnam,
44, $6,392.30, 12 months’ local jail, and 28-month driver’s license revocation for operating a vehicle while intoxicated – fifth or sixth offense, with minor in the vehicle – felony, Dec. 20, 2008.
Randall R. Knabe,
44, 710 Pennsylvania Ave., Sheboygan. $242 and 10 days’ local jail, with work release, for two counts of theft as party to a crime, Nov. 3, 2009. Knabe was stealing electricity from a vacant upstairs apartment while living in a lower apartment on Huron Avenue. Due to not paying his electric bills, his power had been shut off – Knabe ran an extension cord to the upstairs apartment and one to a nearby shed, belonging to someone else.
$2,080 restitution and two years’ probation for two counts of felony forgery/uttering as party to a crime, May 1 through May 31, 2009. Knabe was involved, along with three other people, in cashing checks from a closed checking account after one of the parties found a box of old checks that a previous tenant had left behind. A total of seven checks were either cashed or used at various convenience stations locally and in other nearby cities. Knabe admitted to doing this to buy drugs and other items such as cigarettes, beer, and food.

Lynn M. Polcen,
56, 44 Cherry Lane, Plymouth. $1,635 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and with a prohibited alcohol concentration – first offense, Dec. 13, 2009.
Joshua R. Debruine,
26, N5633 Kathryn Drive, Plymouth. $1,810.30 for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and with a prohibited alcohol concentration – first offense, and deviation from designated lane, Nov. 28, 2009.
Tylor L. Stangel,
20, 108 Parkway St., Cleveland. $110 and five days’ local jail for disorderly conduct, June 22, 2009.
Preston S. Sprader,
18, 278 Michael St., Belgium. $169.20 and five days’ local jail, with work release, for attempted theft. In the early morning hours of June 2, 2009, an officer was patrolling the streets of Cedar Grove when he noticed suspicious activity in the street. When the officer approached the area, Sprader ran off. He was later pulled over as a passenger in a vehicle who had returned near the scene. One male had stayed in the area and officers questioned him. Investigation revealed that the two males had gone walking in the area of Center Avenue, near Second and Third streets, and entered several vehicles looking for items and cash to steal.

Larry C. Irving,
