Sheriff’s Report – Feb. 8

Five Milwaukee residents were injured in a two-vehicle accident on southbound Interstate 43.

According to the accident report, at 5:53 p.m. Jan. 31, a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Yia Thao entered Interstate 43 from eastbound State 23 – after doing so, he crossed both lanes of traffic in a perpendicular motion and was struck by another vehicle. The second vehicle was driven by Renee A. LaFleur, 45, who was traveling in the southbound passing lane.

Thao had two passengers in his vehicle – one of them, 21-year-old Ka Youa Lee, was ejected from the rear seat. LaFleur had one passenger in her vehicle. All occupants of both vehicles were taken by ambulance to area hospitals.

Thao received a citation for turning onto the roadway improperly.
