Murray to play at Winona State

Ian Murray, an all-state linebacker for the Plymouth Panthers last season, signs a national letter of intent Wednesday morning to play college football at Winona State in Winona, Minn., this fall. Joining the PHS senior at the signing at PHS are his parents (seated), Mark and Kathryn Murray, brother, Sean and Panther head football coach Dan Knaus.

Winona State is a Division II school and a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Murray, who will play inside linebacker in college, earned a performance-based athletic scholarship from Winona State and plans to major in business administration. “I’m excited about going there. They have excellent academic and athletic facilities,” Murray said.
