Plymouth hosts students from Colombia
The World Languages Department at Plymouth High School recently hosted students from Colombia.
The visitors, 14 female students and two adult chaperones, participated in a variety of activities from Jan. 11 to 15.
They shadowed host students, spoke to Spanish classes and made a presentation about their culture to all interested classes. They also performed songs and dances.
The hosts took their visitors on a field trip to Sunburst Ski and Recreation Area for tubing and held a school dance in their honor.
This is the fifth year for the visit, said Laura Koebel, Spanish teacher. “The students made great connections this year,” she said. “Lifelong relationships were made.”
Plymouth hopes eventually to return the visit, Koebel said.
