Five PHS gridders on All-Region team

Several area players, including five from Plymouth, earned Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All- Northeast Region honors for the 2009 high school football season.

The PHS Panthers’ selections are senior center Ryan Schmitz, junior tailback Hayden Potts, senior quarterback Jon Criter, senior defensive end Brandon Ermer and senior inside linebacker Ian Murray.

Howards Grove senior wide receiver Mike Verfuerth also earned all-region recognition. Other area players honored include senior offensive lineman Tyler Weavers of Cedar Grove-Belgium; senior running back Luke Menzel, Oostburg; senior inside linebacker Cody Seibel, Kewaskum; and senior punter Tanner Daugherty of Sheboygan North.
