GWENDOLYN E. MALANICK

Gwendolyn E. Malanick, 84, of 1828 N. 1st St., Sheboygan, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center.

Born Oct. 23, 1925, in Plymouth, Gwendolyn was the daughter of the late William and Esther Mayer Hopp.

Gwendolyn attended Sheboygan Central High School and graduated from West Allis Central High School, class of 1943. On Sept. 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Peter Malanick. Peter preceded her in death in 2001.

Gwendolyn was a member of First United Lutheran Church and the church's VIL Group. She enjoyed reading, knitting, collecting antiques and doing puzzles.

She is survived by four children, Elizabeth Barlow of Middletown, Wis., William (Barbara) Malanick of Sheboygan, Robert Malanick of Sheboygan, David (Angie) Malanick of Sheboygan; four grandchildren, Andrew (Lora) Malanick, Melissa Malanick, Bobby Guthrie, Norma Guthrie, all of Sheboygan; one great-grandson, Austin Malanick of Sheboygan; one brother, Duane (Mary Ann) Hopp of Mount Hoerb, Wis.; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday evening, Feb. 12, at First United Lutheran Church with the Deaconess Deb Ganser officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established in her name.
