JEROME O. “JERRY” KUMROW
Jerome O. “Jerry” Kumrow, 82, of Random Lake, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born May 6, 1927 in the town of Scott, Sheboygan County, to Gerhard and Leona (Ranthum) Kumrow. He graduated from Random Lake High School in 1946.
He then served in the U.S. Army from 1946-48 as a technician fifth class.
On June 2, 1956, he married Geraldine “Gerry” Gruenewald in Batavia. Gerry passed away May 1, 2005.
Jerry worked as a salesman for Jacoby Chevrolet in Random Lake and then a semi-driver for How Dea Trucking in Belgium until his retirement in 1991. Following his retirement, he drove gravel truck for Hartman Sand and Gravel for 10 years.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Random Lake, and the American Legion Post #412.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and his passion for his cars, especially showing his 1931 Model A Roadster.
Jerry is survived by two daughters, Lenae “Stella” (Alfred “Fritz”) Heimerl of Random Lake and Twila (Gary) Wetor of Cascade; two sons, Larry Kumrow and Terry Kumrow, both of Waldo; nine grandchildren: Mandy (Eddie) McKenzie of Mississippi; Danny Kumrow and Katie Kumrow of Waldo; Jeremy, Dylan and Karli Heimerl, all of Random Lake; Derek and Abby Kumrow of Random Lake and Dustin Wetor of Cascade; one sister, Joyce (Butch) Butler of Cottage Grove; two brothers, Vernon (Myrtle) Kumrow and Ivan “Ike” (Janet) Kumrow, both of Random Lake; one sister-in-law, Sandy (Jary) Hoffmann of Random Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gerry; and daughter-in-law, Monica Kumrow.
Funeral services for Jerry will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Random Lake with the Rev. Ned Dorau officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery Association - Silver Creek with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #412 - Belgium.
Family and friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church.
