Beisser elected to Colorado board position
Former Sheboygan Falls resident Fred Beisser has been elected to the board of directors of Colorado’s East Central Council of Local Governments (ECCOG).
Beisser, president of Tioga Capital Corp. of Parker, Colo., will serve as the secretary of the (ECCOG) board of directors.
The election took place during the board’s annual meeting Wednesday, Feb. 3.
Beisser replaces town of Elizabeth Mayor Jon Gleiforst, as board secretary. Beisser’s election was unanimous, as was election of officers Rayetta Palmer of Cheyenne Wells, Colo. (chairman) Steve Burgess of Limon, Colo. (vice-chairman) and Del Beattie of Limon, Colo. (treasurer).
The ECCOG operates the Area Agency on Aging and the Outback Express Public Transit program in Elbert, Lincoln, Cheyenne and Kit Carson counties.
It also administers the East Central Enterprise Zone, and works closely with the non-profit Prairie Development Corporation in promoting heritage tourism and other economic development activities. In addition, the ECCOG provides technical assistance to the member local governments.
Eight of the 13 board members are county commissioners or elected municipal officials. The other five members, including Beisser, represent the private business sector or higher education.
ECCOG is a voluntary association of the county commissioners, elected municipal officials and private sector and education representatives in Cheyenne, Elbert, Kit Carson and Lincoln counties in Colorado.
