Living with Grief teleconference for cancer care professionals
Mental Health America will once again join more than 125,000 people in 2,000 communities across the country as a local host for the Hospice Foundation of America’s 17th annual “Living with Grief” teleconference.
“Living with Grief: Cancer and End-of-Life Care,” a live-via-Webcast video broadcast, will provide an opportunity for a wide variety of professionals – including doctors, nurses, funeral directors, psychologists, educators, social workers, and bereavement counselors – to share and exchange ideas and obtain continuing education credits.
The teleconference will take place Wednesday, March 24 from 12:15-3:30 p.m. at the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan campus, located at 1 University Drive in Sheboygan. Pre-registration is requested by Friday, March 5. There is a registration fee. Space is limited and registrations will be accepted on a firstcome, first-served basis.
The teleconference will address care options related to cancer diagnoses as well as loss and grief reactions for patients, families, and professional caregivers. The teleconference will also examine psychosocial aspects of cancer, pain management, and ethical issues related to the disease.
Following the broadcast, a local discussion will be held for those interested in receiving Continuing Education Units (CEUs). An additional fee is applied for those choosing to receive CEUs.
