Panthers No. 1 seed in regional hoops
The Plymouth Panthers received a No. 1 seed in Division 2 boys regional basketball action that opens Tuesday night.
PHS will host No. 8-seeded Mayville in a rematch of a last year’s regional semifinals. The Cardinals stunned No. 5-ranked Plymouth, 58-51.
The PHS-Mayville winner will face the Sheboygan Falls-Campbellsport victor in the semifinals Thursday at the higher-seeded team’s gym.
The Howards Grove Tigers earned a No. 3 seed in Division 3 and will entertain Lomira (6 seed) Tuesday. The survivor will play the winner of the Fond du Lac St. Mary’s Springs-Winnebago Lutheran Academy (Fond du Lac) in semifinal play Thursday at the higher-seeded school.
Oostburg is the No. 1 seed in Howards’ regional and hosts St. Lawrence Seminary (8 seed) Tuesday.
Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, a No. 6 seed, will play at third-seeded Manitowoc Lutheran in Division 4 regional first-round action Tuesday. The winner advances to Thursday’s semifinals versus the Kohler- Trinity Academy (Pewaukee) victor at the higher-seeded team’s court.
All of the regional first-round and semifinal games tip off at 7 p.m.
