Smooth sailing for Resorters
ELKHART LAKE – Senior guard Dane Blake’s game-high 23 points fueled the Elkhart Lake- Glenbeulah Resorters’ 65-49 boys basketball triumph over visiting St. Lawrence Seminary (Mount Calvary) Monday night.
Blake erupted for 19 points in the second half to spark his team that outscored the Hilltoppers 38-28 to break the nonconference game open. He also contributed seven assists, eight rebounds and three steals.
“We played very well as a team,” said Resorter head coach Jeremy Harrison whose squad improved its season mark to 3-17.
“We really did a nice job looking for the open player. We need to play defense better and keep getting better as a team.”
Senior forward Jon Petrie was strong inside for Elkhart with a team-high 12 boards and four blocked shots.
“Jon rebounded well and the bench played good – it just needs to work harder,” Harrison said. Junior guard Ryan Zareczny handed out a career-high eight assists to pace the Resorters who had an outstanding 18. Zareczny also led in steals at four.
