Plymouth Utilities

To the Editor:

Reading the articles in the paper, it seems there were only two possible sites for the new Plymouth Utilities building, when in fact there were others. As a concerned utility user, I am wondering why the Plymouth Utilities are paying almost a million dollars for a 20-acre parcel of land, when for $710,000 they could have bought 40 acres.

The properties are both along County PP and are very comparable in types of soil and also in elevation. One parcel is by County O and the other is a half -mile east of State 57 by Sartori's new building. The property by County 0, I thought was going to be residential, while the property east of State 57 is most likely going to be in the industrial park.

The question this brings to mind is that if you buy the cheaper property, wouldn't you have almost $300,000 more to fix the existing problems in the city?
