Chamber-Main Street to hold annual meeting
The Sheboygan Falls Chamber-Main Street Annual Meeting and Dinner will be held Thursday, March 18, from 6-8:30 p.m. at The Villager restaurant in historic downtown Sheboygan Falls.
The social and cash bar will begin at 6 p.m., with dinning choices of chicken Wellington, a boneless breast with Swiss cheese and mushroom duxelle baked in puff pastry, complimented with a Hollandaise sauce and fresh asparagus
Filet Mignon, premium grade tenderloin grilled to perfection, and served with garlic mashed potatoes and a vegetable is the other dinning choice. Dinners come complete with salad, rolls, coffee and dessert.
The program and award presentations will follow, featuring reflections on 2009 and a look ahead to 2010 for the Main Street program in Sheboygan Falls.
The highlight of the evening is always the closely guarded announcement of the Volunteer of the Year and the Board Member of the Year awards, as well as special recognitions and milestone awards.
Cost is $25 per person. Please be prepared to indicate dinner choices, when making your reservations.
A returning feature this year will be a live auction with guest auctioneer Brian Beeck, who is a member of Chamber-Main Street Board of Directors.
Some of the featured items include a custom-knitted ladybug Afghan, donated by Dr. Christine Tempas; a jewelry creation from The Corner Studio, a dinner and overnight stay package for six from Rochester Inn and the CMS Friends; a dessert-a-month from Natalie’s Pastries; a scenic area rug from Fasse Paint & Decorating, Green Bay Packers tickets from Jos. Schmitt & Sons Construction and many more items.
New this year is a “silent auction,” so attendees are urged to come early and bid often.
Several pieces of original artwork from the historic downtown and assorted gift baskets will round out this unique “shopping” opportunity.
Those interested in participating in the auction will be able to use cash, check or be invoiced for their purchases.
“This is a very special night for our members and volunteers, as well as the many people in the community, who continue to support the work of Chamber-Main Street,” offered Chamber-Main Street Executive Director Nancy Verstrate. “We’ve got a great night planned for the friends of our organization, and we are looking forward to celebrating our successes with the people who have accomplished so much for the business community and all of Sheboygan Falls.
“Everyone is invited to come and enjoy a fun evening of good food and fellowship. We also plan to honor the individuals and businesses that have supported Chamber-Main Street during the last year,” she said. “All our many friends are encouraged to join us on this very special night and be a part of our future.”
