FBLA to present Mr. SFHS contest
The Sheboygan Falls High School Chapter of Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) will be hosting its second Mr. SFHS Contest Sunday, March 14, at the Sheboygan Falls High School auditorium.
The contest, which begins at 3 p.m., is a spoof on the standard beauty pageant. It is open to males from the junior and senior classes, who will be encouraged to be creative and have some fun at their own expense.
The events include sportswear, face the music, talents and formalwear. Community members will judge the contestants on various criteria.
The winner will receive cash and prizes donated by local businesses for an all-expense paid prom package. The contest runner-up and Mr. Congeniality Award winner will also receive cash and prizes.
The audience will have the opportunity to participate in a cash vote for the People’s Choice Award, with the proceeds going to the March of Dimes Foundation, the national charity of FBLA.
Businesses participating as sponsors are The Bridal Boutique, Floral Essence, Creative Premiums, Hair Graphics Salon & Day Spa, and Salon 511, all of Sheboygan Falls, and 1st Class Limousine Service of Two Rivers.
This year’s Mr. SFHS competitors include: senior Spencer Hurlburt, and juniors Mitchell Thimmig, Alex Grabowski, Devin Bayer, Jimmy Pecquex, Alex Thiessen, Brian Koehl, Ryan (Roy) Haeuser, and Nick Roelse.
Advance tickets are on sale at the SFHS office for $5. Same-day tickets will be available at the door on the afternoon of the event.
Proceeds from ticket sales will help alleviate individual student costs for FBLA local, state and national events.
