UW-S to host post second options event
High school sophomores, juniors and parents are invited to the Post High School Options Night Monday, March 15, at the University of Wisconsin-Sheboygan.
The event, which starts at 6 p.m., is open to students from Sheboygan Falls, Cedar Grove, Elkhart Lake, Kiel, Kohler, Oostburg, Plymouth and Random Lake.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the possibilities after graduation, and talk oneon one with college representatives.
The event will begin with a welcome address in the UW-Sheboygan Theatre. After that, six half-hour sectionals will be offered in various rooms. Participants will be able to attend up to three sectionals.
The sectionals will address the University of Wisconsin System, with representatives from UWSheboygan, UW-Green Bay, UW-Madison, UW-Milwaukee and UW-Oshkosh.
In addition, private college representatives from Ripon College, Lakeland College, Cardinal Stritch University, Marquette University and St. Norbert College will also be in attendance.
Wisconsin technical colleges, including Lakeshore Technical College, Fox Valley Technical College, Milwaukee Area Technical College and Moraine Park Technical College will be represented as well.
Military options will be represented, with representatives from the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines and National Guard.
Other topics include: financial aid, scholarships, how to write a college and scholarship essay, applying to college and ACT scores.
Refreshments will be provided courtesy of Wells Fargo. Door prizes will be awarded at the end of the event, which runs until 8:15 p.m.
