Freshman girls squad caps perfect EWC season

The Sheboygan Falls Falcons freshman girls basketball team finished 14-0 in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference, surviving a scare by beating the Kewaskum Indians 44-42, Friday, March 5.

Kewaskum led 29-27 going into the fourth quarter, but Falls rallied to take a 38-35 lead, with scoring help from Allison Latsch and Maggie Manning.

The Indians closed to within 41-39, with 42 seconds left. Jensen Hamilton made 3-of-4 free throws in the remaining seconds to seal the win for the Falcons, which finished the season 19-1 overall.

Latsch led the Falls squad in scoring, with 14 points. Hamilton finished with 13 and Manning added nine.

Coach Tammy Ison was excited about the undefeated EWC season. “This has been such a wonderful group of girls to coach,” said Ison.
