Riverview students enjoy construction, design field trip
Some students from Riverview Middle School in Plymouth recently spent a day experiencing construction and design processes first hand.
The seventh- and eighth-grade students are in the “Construction and Design” classes, an alternative elective to band and chorus. They were accompanied on the field trip by Beau Biller and Thomas Larsen, team teachers for the course, as well as two volunteer chaperones.
Students first toured Kohler Company’s manufacturing processes, then looked at product samples and cool bathroom designs in the Kohler Design Center.
In the afternoon, students visited the John Michael Kohler Arts Center to tour the new exhibits. They also each designed and constructed their own small pewter artwork using a metal casting process.
