PHS to create Alumni Wall of Fame

Do you know Plymouth High School alumni who exemplify the district mission of “Become your best?”

The Plymouth High School Student Council wants to honor individuals who have made a difference, who have achieved a high level of success, and who have given unselfishly to make their community a better place.

Accordingly, the Plymouth School District is creating the Plymouth High School Alumni Wall of Fame, with the inaugural honorees to be recognized at the graduation ceremony June 6.

The wall will be constructed during the summer in the main lobby outside the auditorium. Plaques honoring the honored alumni will hang on the curved wall.

The Plymouth High School Student Council came up with the idea for the Wall of Fame after its advisor, social studies teacher Dan Lamb, saw a similar Wall of Honor at Cambridge University in England.

The purpose of the wall is to provide students and the extended community the opportunity to honor excellence.

“It is our hope that these people will provide role models for our current students, and offer a chance to celebrate the successes of those who have graduated from our school,” according to nomination materials.

Nominees must have graduated from Plymouth High School at least 10 years ago. Honorees will be men and women who have made exceptional achievements in

endeavors including, but not limited to, education, science and technology, business, literature, athletics, and public service.

Nominations are due April 20. A nomination form can be found on the district web site at www.plymouth.k12.wi.us. Nominees who are not selected in a particular year will be reconsidered automatically in subsequent years.

A committee of five students and Mark Rhyan, Plymouth School Board president, will select the first inductees in early May. Student members are Emma Roy, Forum Patel, Jack Brody, Jack Travis and John Hintz.
