Richardson hospice services now available to veterans
The Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice is now under contract with Veterans Affairs to provide hospice services to veterans in the region. Effective immediately, qualifying veterans with life-limiting illnesses may be eligible for hospice services and are encouraged to contact the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for a consultation.
Theresa Grasse, clinical manager, indicates, “We have been serving veterans; however, the contract with the Regional VA will make it easier for them to access their benefits and receive services in their homes, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, hospitals, and/or in our hospice facility.”
The Richardson Community Hospice is the only facility serving the Central Lakeshore Area including Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Ozaukee, Washington and Calumet counties. The center is located at W2850 State 28 outside of Sheboygan Falls.
Anyone in need of services is encouraged to call (920) 467-1800 for a consultation at any time, or drop in – the Web site also provides a virtual tour at www.ssrhospice home.org.
Hospice staff is working with the Sheboygan County Veteran Service officer, Charlene Cobb, to contact the various Veteran Service groups to make them aware of these services. If you would like a presentation or information, call Linda Cates, director of communication and development, at (920) 467-1800.
